While her location was marked Texas, in the 6th image she tagged Ace Of Cuts Barbershop, a New York barbershop known for their stylistic cuts. She also tagged her hairstylist, Jacob Aaron, who was responsible for her pre-cut hair> ringlet bangs and a slicked back Eldorado Ballroom look. Lastly, she tagged makeup artist Mark De Los Reyes, who gave her a lip strong enough to stand out even in black and white—and next to a bald cut.
Meanwhile, photographer and creative director Ibrahim Hasan captured Solange’s dramatic transformation in a similar portrait style to the wall posters hanging up in barbershops. Side shots, top shots, front and back, seemingly paying respect to her haircut as a cultural statement. As a creative director and curator herself, Solange has long proclaimed she does nothing without intention. To the point, her new bald cut obviously had a purpose. And, if nothing else, she proved just how good she looks with hair—and none at all.
