Tributes have continued to pour in for Dayna Tobierre of Desruisseaux, Micoud, following a fatal motor vehicle collision at Sandy Beach, Vieux Fort, on Thursday afternoon.
Emergency personnel later released details surrounding the incident, which claimed the life of Tobierre, who was driving the vehicle at the time of the crash.
According to the Saint Lucia Fire Service, officers responded to the scene at about 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, January 8, after receiving reports of a vehicle that had collided with a tree. On arrival, responders found Tobierre in the driver’s seat and an adult male in the passenger seat.
Both occupants were extricated from the vehicle by emergency personnel. Fire Service officials said Tobierre was assessed at the scene and showed no signs of life, while the male passenger sustained injuries to his body.
Tobierre’s death came as a shock to family, friends and the wider community.
Boost Marketing, a local marketing agency where Tobierre worked as a senior brand promoter, described her in a statement as a “reliable, intelligent, and fun-loving soul” who brought energy and professionalism to her work.
Friends and former classmates also shared memories of Tobierre, remembering her as warm, kind and radiating with joy, often with a smile.
