A dispute between two restaurant workers allegedly turned violent on Thursday afternoon, leaving both parties injured in the Sutherlands area near the Clarevue Psychiatric Hospital.
According to reports, the incident unfolded around 4 pm on Friday at a food establishment in the area. Authorities were alerted by a call, and officers subsequently attended the scene.
Reports indicate that a 35-year-old male resident of Sutherlands was found with a wound to his right hand, while an 18-year-old female from Hodges Bay sustained superficial injuries to her back, right forearm, and chest, and allegedly complained of neck pain.
According to sources, the male told investigators that he and the female co-worker were engaged in a verbal altercation at the restaurant when the dispute allegedly turned physical, resulting in him being stabbed in the right hand with a knife.
The female, however, allegedly presented a different account. She claimed that the male had been consistently interfering with her prior to the incident, and that on the afternoon in question, he reportedly struck her in the head with a pot before retrieving an electrical power strip from outside which he used to beat her about the body.
Inquiries into the matter are continuing.
