In January 2022, Blair took the lead and messaged Jermaine on Match.com. Jermaine actually waited two weeks to reply because he was convinced she was an AI bot! Once he realized she was the real deal, they spent hours on the phone before a perfect first date at Brio Italian Grill.

Beyond being best friends, they share a wild coincidence: Blair and Jermaine’s mom have the same birthday, March 26th. Jermaine jokes it was a total “copy-paste” of his first love! Engagement story

Fast forward to December 27th, 2024. Jermaine proposed to me in his home state of Louisiana, in the city of New Orleans, a city he had envisioned for the special moment. He didn’t have every detail planned, but the moment flowed organically and was extraordinary. We enjoyed a fantastic dinner at Doris Metropolitan, seated in a cozy, private room that set the perfect mood. The laughter we shared with the other guests created an unforgettable atmosphere. Just as a table of four was getting up to leave, he seized the moment, proposed, and confidently awaited my “yes.” To this day, he says my enthusiastic “yes” marked the beginning of our exciting journey together, and we are now set to get married on September 5th, 2026.

What are you most looking forward to about your wedding?

What Jermaine and I are most looking forward to on our wedding day is for it to come! We are incredibly excited for our wedding day to arrive so we can celebrate our union with our closest and dearest friends and family and showcase all the hard work that has gone into planning this spectacular event.

We owe a huge thank you to my mother, Dr. Wenonah Ecung, and our amazing wedding planner, Aiyesha Minnot; their talents and efforts have been invaluable. With their expertise, our 300 guests will be completely dazzled by the elegance and luxuriousness of our celebration. As proud Southerners, we are sparing no expense to create what I consider a masterpiece, an extraordinary event that was once a dream transformed into reality!
