It argued that the reviews work was misleading, and said that the plight of ethnic minorities had worsened in the past five years. [ me black cat could a tell them dat!] It said the Committee was in breach of numerouse articles of the UN treaty and The International Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination, failing to uphold Ethnic Minority peoples social,civil, political and economical rights. [fa real] The Goverment is required to submit regular reports to the UN Committee, which monitors adhearance to the treaty. These are accompanied by shadow reports from civil society groups, which together are used by the UN to access progress on racial equlity. The goverment did not submit a report last year because of the pandemic. [dem nah do dem job!] The latest shadow report produced by Runnymede with funding from the Equality and Human Rights Commission found that etnic minoritiy groups faced sustained disparities across health, the criminal justice system, education, employment, immigration and politics. [not dank!] It follows the publication in march of a seperate report by the Commision on Race and Ethnic Disparities, set up by Downing Street, the Commision found that " geography, family influence, socioeconomic background, culture and religion have more significant outcomes on life chances than the existance of racism".[foolisness by Doc Sewell? eedddiot breddah!] A goverment spokesman said: "The Runnymede Trust's shadow report contains many errors, and is to simplistic in saying that structural or systemic racism is driving all the disparities outlined in their report."
