BELTRAIDE and partners host Tourism and Business Connect” Business Matchmaking

By Zoila Palma:  On June 30, 2026, BELTRAIDE, in collaboration with the Center for the Promotion of Micro and Small Enterprises in Central America (CENPROMYPE), the Central America Tourism Agency (CATA), the Ministry of Tourism, Youth, Sports and Diaspora Relations, the Belize Tourism Board and with the support of Taiwan hosted the “Tourism and Business Connect” Business Matchmaking Event.

The event brought together tourism stakeholders and micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) to strengthen Belize’s tourism value chain and create new commercial opportunities.

The event featured presentations on tourism market opportunities, strategic partnerships, and international trends before participants engaged in structured business-to-business (B2B) meetings designed to foster partnerships, increase local sourcing, and expand MSME participation within Belize’s tourism industry.

BELTRAIDE’s Executive Director Ishmael Quiroz highlighted the significance of the event as one of the first regional initiatives hosted during Belize’s tenure as Pro Tempore President of CENPROMYPE, underscoring the country’s commitment to strengthening regional cooperation and creating tangible opportunities for entrepreneurs. “This event demonstrates Belize’s leadership in advancing inclusive economic growth and building stronger regional partnerships,” said Quiroz. “By connecting tourism businesses with local suppliers, we are strengthening value chains, enhancing the competitiveness of our MSMEs, and ensuring that more Belizean businesses benefit from the continued growth of our tourism sector.”

The initiative forms part of a broader regional strategy to promote sustainable tourism, deepen trade integration, and foster economic resilience across Central America.
