Businessman says naked man entered his room, touched him, then struck him with a stone

By Breaking Belize News Staff (HP): A 50 year old businessman of Sarstoon Street, Orange Walk has reported being attacked at his home in the early hours of August 21.

According to the report, the man was attending a wake on Temash Street between 2:30am and 3:30am when two men approached him. He recognised one by face and had never seen the other.

He later returned to his residence and went to sleep.

He told police he heard someone calling his name and, believing it was someone he knew, invited the person inside. The man made his way to his bedroom and began touching him in a sexual manner. He told him no.

The complainant said his residence has no light or water, but that moonlight allowed him to see it was the same man from the wake, and that he was completely naked.

He said he told the man he wanted nothing and laid back down, at which point he was struck in the face with a stone. A struggle followed and he was struck again before he ran out and shouted for help.

A friend assisted him. His injuries were certified as wounding by a doctor.

A 31 year old labourer of Yo Creek Village has been detained pending charges.
