Saint Lucian Johnson Charles had a modest ILT20 2025/26 season with the Sharjah Warriorz, finishing with an average of 24.40. Unlike his explosive 2025 campaign, he did not feature among the tournament’s top run-scorers or strike-rate leaders finishing at 16.
The season was dominated by Sam Curran (397 runs, Player of the Series) and Muhammad Waseem (370 runs), while Charles’ contributions were limited to a few headline performances including a 77-run effort against the MI Emirates and two scores of 43 against the Dubai Capitals and the Desert Vipers. It is unclear what these performances mean for Charles’ chances at the upcoming T20 World Cup to be played in India and Sri Lanka in February.
Meanwhile, Barbados’ Jason Holder has an excellent tournament for the Abu Dhabi Knight Riders whom he captained. The towering all rounder finished joint third on the wicket tree for the tournament, bagging 15 scalps at an average of 16.33, with his best figures being 3/18 which he bagged against the Dubai Capitals. Holder also had a few cameos with the bat. The team was also coached by West Indies legend Dwayne Bravo who served as Head Coach with Ottis Gibson as his deputy. Other standout West Indian performances came from Rovman Powell who finished 7th in the overall rankings with the bat averaging 38.42 with a top score of 96 not out.
