United Workers Party (UWP) Political Leader Allen Chastanet has offered supporters a preview of what his Cabinet could look like if the party is successful at the polls.
At the UWP manifesto launch last weekend, he highlighted four constituencies the party is determined to reclaim – Dennery North, Dennery South, Micoud North and Micoud South – and made clear that the candidates representing those areas would all be part of his Cabinet.
Chastanet then laid out the roles he intends to assign:
Bradley Marcelle Fulgence (Dennery North) – Minister for Agriculture and Gaming
Benson Emile (Dennery South) – Minister for Health
Elisha Norbert (Micoud North) – Minister for Education
And when it came to his own constituency, Micoud South, Chastanet told supporters, “Of course, the people of Micoud South, you will have the PM, your PM.”
Throughout the night, Chastanet stressed unity, saying the UWP must stand together if it hopes to lead the country again.
His remarks showed a leader confident that the UWP will win on December 1. He says the team he presented is ready to govern and take Saint Lucia “into its next chapter”.
