Comment on Anhedonia – the creativity assassin of Post Covid Syndrome by LN Writes
Thank you so much for this post. You are absolutely not alone, and I can tell you from experience that it will resolve if it hasn't done so for you already. It took me almost five years to muddle my way out of that exact situation. I have been a writer for the entirety of my life, and after Long Covid floored me in April of 2020, I lost it all... my ability to find words, my short term memory, and my WILL to write. I went from write at least 2500 words a day to zero for almost 3 years. It was soul crushing, and I am still (5 years later) still climbing out of that well of despair. Something that was a part of my identity had been taken from me. Today I can tell you that it comes back... slowly...but if you just keep pressing (and I cannot tell you how much the right vitamin intake and pacing yourself will help support that recovery. A few weeks ago it just "popped" back on! I woke up with a story in my head and I sat to write it down with the help of AI (which I leaned on heavily when i couldn't write a simple sentence) and I found myself creating new characters and their worlds... and I wept. I wish this wholeheartedly for you as well, and for anyone struggling with a loss of creativity and sadness. May the muses find you again.
