Diljit Dosanjh Nears $50M Gross on Record-Breaking Aura World Tour

American stadium and arena calendars are stocked with contemporary pop artists — “pop” in the broad, literal sense of the word — artists with sell-out potential. It’s quite rare, however, for any of those A-list acts to represent Punjabi folk music.

According to figures reported to Billboard Boxscore, Diljit Dosanjh has grossed $45 million and sold 317,000 tickets on the Aura World Tour. He just wrapped a run of shows in the United States and Canada, closing as the biggest North American leg of a tour by a Punjabi artist in Boxscore history.

Live Nation’s Nidhish Varughese comment to Billboard, “The Aura World Tour reflects both his global appeal and the growing demand for South Asian artists worldwide. With this North American leg, he broke his own record, drawing more than 225,000 fans and grossing $32 million across 15 shows, surpassing his record-breaking 2024 Dil-Luminati Tour, which previously stood as the highest grossing North American tour by a South Asian artist.”

Dosanjh’s North American shows included 10 shows in the United States across eight major markets. He doubled up in New York and San Francisco, grossing $5.1 million from 26,900 tickets at Madison Square Garden (May 24-25) and $4.5 million from 26,800 tickets at the Chase Center (June 20-21).

But while the U.S. covered the lion’s share of the North American leg’s earnings, Dosanjh’s five shows in Canada sold more tickets. He played stadiums in Vancouver and Toronto, peaking in revenue with $5.9 million at the latter’s Rogers Centre on May 31, and in attendance at the former’s BC Place Stadium with 42,700 tickets sold.

“Canada has one of the largest South Asian populations in the world, so it’s naturally a very strong market for South Asian artists,” adds Varughese. “At the same time, Diljit has built an exceptionally strong fanbase across Canada, which is reflected in the scale of the venues he’s able to play there.”

Before coming to North America, Dosanjh kicked off the tour in Oceania with five shows in Australia and one in New Zealand. That run brought in $13 million and sold 90,100 tickets, including stadium stops in Melbourne and Sydney.

The Aura World Tour has already broken records, but nine shows remain in the United Kingdom and Europe, hitting Amsterdam, Berlin, Manchester and Paris, among other key markets. In London, Dosanjh will play Wembley Stadium on Sept. 11, which, according to Dosanjh’s website, is already sold out.
