THE NDP’s candidate in Surrey-Panaroma is Jinny Sims.
The party said that as a former MP and provincial cabinet minister who has been elected twice as MLA in this riding, Sims is a champion for families and a proven leader in Surrey-Panorama. She understands the issues facing people of all ages in BC, as a mother, teacher, and past president of the BC Teachers’ Federation. As a broadcaster, Jinny has been a strong voice for the South Asian community, hearing from people across Surrey about the issues that matter to them.
“People in Surrey-Panorama are facing tough challenges right now, and the BC NDP is the only party with a plan,” said Sims. “While the Conservatives cosy up to Trump, David and our team will continue with our work to lower costs for families and recruit more healthcare workers.”
The BC NDP will continue to stand up for British Columbians, create more family-supporting jobs and prioritize healthcare, while the Conservatives would only go back to their old playbook of making cuts.
“Jinny is a dedicated advocate for her community,” said David Eby. “She is a strong voice for the people of Surrey, whether behind the microphone at Swift Radio, in local, provincial, or federal politics, or as a neighbour, family member, and friend. I know I’m not the only one who would be thrilled to see her back in the legislature standing up for British Columbians and the people of Surrey.”
British Columbians go to the polls on Saturday, October 24.
