Maputo (MOZTIMES) - The Mozambican government on Tuesday lifted the red alert it had imposed during the catastrophic flooding that had hit the southern and central provinces earlier in the year.
A red alert is the highest state of disaster preparedness At a Maputo press briefing on Tuesday, the government spokesperson and Health Minister Ussene Isse announced that the government had downgraded the warning to an orange alert, to assure continuity in assistance to those affected by the floods.
