Hai//Om San traditional leader chief Dawid //Khamuxab died at Outjo District Hospital on Tuesday afternoon after a long illness.
His nephew, Leon Aib, confirmed his death to Nampa on Wednesday afternoon.
Aib said the 75-year-old chief was the Hai//Om San traditional leader for the areas of Outjo, Oshivelo, Grootfontein, Otjiwarongo, Etosha, Verda, Toevlug, Nuchas, and Kotties government resettlement farms.
“His traditional headquarters were based at Seringkop Government Resettlement Farm, north of Outjo, since his installation and recognition by the government in 2004,” Aib said.
He added that at the time of his death, //Khamuxab served more than 20 000 Hai//Om San under his reign.
The chief leaves behind his three daughters and two sons. Funeral arrangements will be officially announced next week. –Nampa
