idimilan Channels Life, Struggle, and Hope on New EP “Thee”

Fast-rising Nigerian singer-songwriter idimilan returns with his new EP “Thee”, a deeply reflective Afrobeats project released on 30 April 2026. Rooted in lived experience and personal observation, the project positions him as an emerging voice unafraid to explore the emotional and social realities shaping contemporary Nigerian life.

Across the EP, idimilan uses music as a lens for examining pressure, ambition, identity, and resilience. Rather than leaning purely into celebration, “Thee” embraces the full emotional spectrum of everyday existence — from struggle and isolation to hope and self-belief. The result is a body of work that feels intimate, grounded, and emotionally aware.

One of the standout moments on the project, “Ayah”, directly confronts the challenges of governance and corruption in Nigeria, while also pointing toward the possibility of transformation. The track reflects on how systems of leadership intersect with cultural expectations, ultimately questioning responsibility and envisioning a future shaped by accountability and change.

Sonically, “Thee” expands the Afrobeats palette by incorporating subtle live instrumentation, including prominent bass guitar elements, alongside layered production that enhances its reflective tone. Much of the project was initially recorded in idimilan’s bedroom before being refined in collaboration with producers and a co-writer, reinforcing its personal and hands-on creative process.

At its core, “Thee” is designed as a message of reassurance for listeners navigating silent struggles — whether stress, overthinking, loneliness, or ambition. idimilan aims to create music that validates those experiences while encouraging perseverance and self-trust.

With this release, idimilan continues to shape a distinctive artistic identity, building on the foundation laid by his debut single “My Element”. “Thee” stands as both a personal statement and a relatable soundtrack for anyone striving to stay grounded while pushing toward something greater.
