On a weekend of low scores in the 50 Over League, Kifaru and Ismaili Community stood out with some big knocks.

Ismaili Community put the students of St John’s Mukono to the sword with Cricket Cranes captain Riazat Ali Shah notching up his second century of the season. He got some lower-order support from Imitiaz Ali (51) and a quickfire 54 off 23 balls from Juma Miyaji as they posted a big 352/7 in their quota of 50 overs.

In the run chase, the students never put up a challenge as Ismaili Community picked up their fourth win of the season to keep them firmly in control of their promotion destiny.

In the Gold Division, Tornado Bee dropped their first points of the season to GM Sugar. GM Sugar was in desperate need of earning points for them to save their season, while Tornado Bee had been flawless so far in the league. GM Sugar took care of business with a not-so-comfortable four-wicket win but just enough to get them their second win of the season. The worry for those concerned is that the top two sides in the league played only 46 overs between them.

In the Bronze Division, Kifaru piled on the runs against a helpless Iganda CC at the Jinja SS Oval. Farid Danani (69), Harshal Panchal (50) and Shlok Dalwadi (79) picked up half-centuries with the Iganga side contributing a half-century of extras as well.

It was the third win for Kifaru in Group B of the Bronze Division, which puts them in a good place to qualify for the quarterfinals.

At the Florida Ground, Avengers were in a rush to do other things and they cleaned up Soroti City in a hurry for the lowest score of the weekend.

Nile is not yet out of relegation danger after losing to SKPLS, and they will need to find a second win that can move to safety.
