By Zoila Palma: On July 17, 2026, Anthony Mahler, Minister of Tourism, Youth, Sports and Diaspora Relations along with Devin Daly, Minister of State for Youth and Sports, hosted a celebratory dinner in honor of the Men’s National Volleyball Team’s historic gold medal victory.
This victory is Belize’s first-ever senior men’s title, secured at the III AFECAVOL Men’s Final Four Championship in Costa Rica.
The dinner brought together the national champions, members of the National Sports Council Board and staff, and representatives of the Belize Volleyball Association, in recognition of this grand achievement for Belizean sport.
The Ministry extended congratulations to the team on a triumph that once again shows the world the depth of talent Belize continues to produce on the international sporting stage.
