New Release: Richie Stephens – Wet Sugar

Richie Stephens has linked up once again with musician/producer Steven ‘Lenky’ Marsden. These two go way back, and every time they reconnect, something solid comes out of it. That’s exactly what you get with their latest release, Wet Sugar. It brings that familiar energy but with a fresh twist that still feels true to dancehall.
Wet Sugar leans into that grown-and-sexy lane. Stephens takes his time, painting those intimate moments with a smooth, confident delivery. It’s clearly one for the ladies, but still keeps that classy balance we expect from him.
Lenky, on the other hand, goes back to one of his biggest creations: the Diwali Riddim. If you’ve been around dancehall, you know how massive that riddim is. It gave him international hits like Get Busy from Sean Paul and No Letting Go by Wayne Wonder. This time, he updates it just enough, keeping that signature bounce but sharpening the sound for today’s ears.
The chemistry here isn’t new either. Stephens and Lenky have been building together since the ‘90s, with tracks like the hit Maniac alongside Bounty Killer.
