Today, the Golden Globes unveiled nominations for their 83rd annual ceremony. Announced live from the Beverly Hilton by Marlon Wayans and Skye P. Marshall, the lineup spans 28 categories across film, television, and podcasting, setting the stage for what promises to be a competitive awards season.

This year’s nominees reflect a blend of franchise powerhouses, daring indies, and star-driven prestige projects—none more prominent than Sinners, Ryan Coogler’s genre-blending drama that continues its dominant awards-season run. The film landed major nominations including Best Motion Picture – Drama, Best Director for Coogler, Best Actor for Michael B. Jordan, Best Screenplay, Best Original Score, and a spot in the Cinematic and Box Office Achievement category. Its original song “I Lied to You,” by Raphael Saadiq and Ludwig Göransson, also secured a nomination. In the acting races, Tessa Thompson earned a Best Actress in a Motion Picture – Drama nomination for her searing performance in Hedda, a reimagining of Ibsen’s classic that has steadily built critical momentum since its festival debut. Thompson’s turn—steely, volatile, and meticulously controlled—cements her place in one of the year’s most competitive fields.

Another standout nomination belongs to Cynthia Erivo, recognized in Best Actress in a Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy for Wicked: For Good.
