By Breaking Belize News Staff (HP): Police in Orange Walk are investigating a devastating accident that claimed the life of a one-year-old child in Indian Creek Village.
Officials say the incident occurred at a residence in the Mennonite community sometime after 8:15 Monday night. Initial investigations indicate that the child was accidentally struck by a vehicle being driven by his father.
ASP Stacy Smith explained that the father reportedly entered his vehicle and was preparing to leave when he was alerted that the child had been hit. The infant was later pronounced dead from the injuries sustained.
Investigators have since prepared a case file which has been submitted to the DPP for legal guidance as police continue their investigations into the incident.
