Siari, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve has officially opened on Mexico’s Pacific coast, bringing one of the most ambitious luxury resort projects in the country to Riviera Nayarit.
The new ultra-luxury resort stretches across 920 acres with nearly 4.3 miles of beach, combining cliffside villas, oceanfront suites, private plunge pools and jungle-covered coastline north of Puerto Vallarta. The property is the newest addition to Marriott’s ultra-luxury Ritz-Carlton Reserve collection, a small portfolio built around lower-density resorts in secluded destinations with a strong emphasis on privacy, landscape and destination-driven design.
Unlike many of the larger luxury resorts opening across Mexico right now, Siari Riviera Nayarit is built around physical space and separation. The estate spreads across hillsides, mangroves, jungle terrain and beachfront along Mexico’s Pacific coast, with accommodations positioned throughout the property instead of concentrated into large hotel towers.
The Rooms Are Built Around the Pacific
The accommodations are one of the defining parts of the resort experience.
The rooms, suites, villas and penthouses all face the Pacific Ocean, with layouts designed around outdoor living and uninterrupted water views. Many of the suites include private plunge pools overlooking the Pacific, along with oversized terraces that open directly toward the ocean and surrounding jungle landscape.
Inside, the design leans heavily into Riviera Nayarit itself. The resort uses woven materials, indigenous artistry, handcrafted detailing and natural textures throughout the accommodations, with interiors inspired by the region’s beaches, cliffs, forests and mountains.
The visual approach is intentionally restrained. Instead of oversized decorative elements or highly stylized luxury design, the rooms focus on lighter woods, open-air transitions and views outward toward the landscape. The result feels quieter and more connected to the Pacific coast than many of Mexico’s luxury beach resorts.
Riviera Nayarit Keeps Moving Further Upscale
The opening is another major moment for Riviera Nayarit, which has rapidly evolved into one of Mexico’s leading luxury resort destinations.
What was once viewed largely as an extension of Puerto Vallarta has become a standalone high-end destination, particularly for travelers looking for lower-density resorts and more privacy than larger tourism corridors farther south. Luxury brands have accelerated investment across Riviera Nayarit, Punta Mita and nearby stretches of the Pacific coast during the last several years.
Siari, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve enters the market at the very top of that segment. The Ritz-Carlton Reserve brand itself has become one of Marriott’s biggest luxury priorities globally, focused on highly individualized resorts in destinations where landscape and local culture become central parts of the experience. There are only a limited number of Ritz-Carlton Reserve resorts worldwide, and Riviera Nayarit now has one of them.
The Dining Program Focuses on Riviera Nayarit
Food is central to the property’s identity.
The culinary program draws heavily from Riviera Nayarit ingredients and regional Mexican traditions, combining indigenous influences with coastal cooking from the Pacific region. Open-air dining spaces overlook the ocean throughout the property, with restaurants positioned toward the coastline and surrounding landscape.
The resort is also planning culinary experiences and cultural programming tied to the traditions and communities of Nayarit itself. That direction reflects a broader shift across luxury hospitality in Mexico, where resorts increasingly build dining concepts around regional identity instead of generic international resort menus.
At Siari Riviera Nayarit, the destination remains at the center of the experience, from the ingredients used in the restaurants to the broader cultural programming across the property.
The Spa Takes Its Inspiration From the Huichol Community
Wellness is another major part of the resort’s positioning.
The spa concept draws inspiration from the traditions of the Huichol community and the region’s connection to nature and the sea. Treatment areas are spread across jungle-framed pavilions, reflecting pools and outdoor wellness spaces integrated directly into the landscape.
Nature-based therapies and holistic treatments form the foundation of the wellness program. That approach mirrors the broader direction of luxury travel in Mexico and the Caribbean basin, where wellness has increasingly become one of the defining elements of high-end resort development.
At Siari Riviera Nayarit, the spa is positioned as one of the property’s centerpiece experiences rather than a secondary amenity.
Adventure Is Part of the Experience
The surrounding coastline also shapes much of the resort experience.
The Riviera Nayarit region near the property includes jungle trails, waterfalls, whale-watching areas and Pacific coves spread across the coastline north of Puerto Vallarta. The resort plans guided outdoor excursions and cultural experiences tied closely to the geography and traditions of the surrounding area.
Nighttime programming will also include performances and seasonal events connected to local culture. The broader concept is built around immersion in Mexico’s Pacific coast itself, not simply the resort grounds.
Luxury Residences Are Also Part of the Project
Siari Riviera Nayarit also includes a residential component overlooking the Pacific.
The development’s 34 residences include four- and five-bedroom homes integrated into the broader estate, with open-air living areas, private pools and cliffside ocean views. Residence owners receive access to the resort’s amenities, beachfront areas and planned golf facilities.
Luxury branded residences have become one of the fastest-growing segments of hospitality development across Mexico, particularly in destinations drawing second-home buyers and long-stay travelers from the United States and Canada.
A Major New Luxury Opening on Mexico’s Pacific Coast
The opening of the resort is another sign of how dramatically Riviera Nayarit has changed during the last decade.
Luxury travelers increasingly want resorts with more land, fewer neighboring developments and stronger connections to the surrounding destination. That demand has reshaped large parts of Mexico’s Pacific coast, particularly in Riviera Nayarit, where luxury brands continue pushing farther north along the coastline.
With nearly five miles of beach, plunge-pool suites overlooking the Pacific, hundreds of acres of jungle terrain and one of the largest resort footprints in Riviera Nayarit, Marriott is making a major play for the next phase of luxury travel in Mexico.
Prices at Siari
I found rooms this week starting at $1,150 per night for an ocean view terrace room. 1600 for a room with plunge pool. $1,850 for a panoramic view pool.
