*The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame has officially unveiled its Class of 2026, bringing together a wide range of influential artists across rock, hip-hop, R&B, and global music. The latest group of inductees highlights both legendary careers and long-awaited recognition for several previously overlooked acts.
According to Deadline, this year’s Performer category features Phil Collins, Billy Idol, Iron Maiden, Joy Division/New Order, Oasis, Wu-Tang Clan, Sade, and the late Luther Vandross. The selection reflects a blend of genres and eras, with several of the artists receiving recognition after years of eligibility.
Additional honors will also be presented across multiple categories. The Early Influence Awards will go to Celia Cruz, Gram Parsons, Fela Kuti, Queen Latifah, and MC Lyte, recognizing foundational contributions that shaped modern music. Meanwhile, the Musical Excellence Awards will be given to producers Arif Mardin, Jimmy Miller, and Rick Rubin, along with songwriter Linda Creed, acknowledging their behind-the-scenes impact on the industry.

The Ahmet Ertegun Award will be presented posthumously to television host Ed Sullivan, recognizing his role in bringing popular music to a wider audience.
Among this year’s inductees, Phil Collins stands out as a two-time Rock & Roll Hall of Fame honoree, having previously been inducted as part of Genesis in 2010. Artists including INXS, Jeff Buckley, Lauryn Hill, Melissa Etheridge, New Edition, P!nk, Shakira, Mariah Carey, and The Black Crowes were not selected for induction this cycle, despite being on the ballot.
Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Chairman John Sykes described the honor as “music’s highest honor,” adding that the upcoming ceremony will be “an unforgettable night.”
The induction event is scheduled for November 14 at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles, with television coverage set for ABC in December and streaming available on Disney+.
