The Senegalese Football Federation has been plunged into a growing internal crisis following a dispute over the distribution of bonuses linked to the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.

A group of 16 federation members has openly accused president Abdoulaye Fall of overseeing bonus payments in a manner they describe as non-transparent and carried out without collective approval. According to the group, the process lacked proper consultation and raised serious concerns about accountability within the federation’s leadership structure.

At the centre of the controversy are claims that individuals who were not part of the official delegation for the tournament reportedly received bonus payments. The aggrieved members argue that such decisions undermine established procedures and create distrust within the institution.

The situation is further complicated by disagreements over what insiders describe as multiple competing lists and varying rules used to determine eligibility for payments. This lack of consistency, according to critics, has deepened suspicions and fuelled internal divisions.

Efforts to resolve the matter through internal dialogue have so far failed. With talks collapsing and no clear agreement in sight, the dispute has now spilled into the public domain, escalating what was initially an administrative disagreement into a full blown governance crisis within one of Africa’s respected football bodies.
