Sports Stars Who Got Married During The Offseason
Pro athletes take advantage of the offseason to get married, with NBA stars, NFL stars, and tennis stars tying the knot in lavish weddings.

For professional athletes, especially those in the NBA and NFL, there really isn’t much of an “off” button during the season. Between practices, film sessions, games, travel, treatment, media obligations and everything else that comes with playing at the highest level, much of the fall, winter and spring can feel like one long grind.
That makes the summer especially valuable. It’s a chance to step away from the nonstop schedule, spend real time with family and reconnect with the people who help keep everything grounded when the cameras are off. Behind just about every athlete is some type of support system, and for plenty of players, their significant other has been right there through trades, injuries, playoff runs and all the uncertainty that can come with professional sports.
It’s also why summer has unofficially become wedding season around the sports world. Trying to plan a ceremony during an NBA playoff push or in the middle of an NFL season is almost impossible, so the offseason provides one of the few stretches when players can actually slow down long enough to enjoy one of the biggest moments of their lives.
And just like most years, summer 2026 provided plenty of weddings. NBA champions, All-Stars and NFL stars all said “I do,” with ceremonies ranging from intimate courthouse affairs to massive, celebrity-filled celebrations. Here are some of the sports stars who got married during the offseason.
Trey Jemison & Alex Jean Glover
Trey Jemison and sports broadcaster Alex Jean Glover celebrated their marriage on August 21 with a “Western chic” wedding at Southall Meadows in Franklin, Tennessee. The two first connected during the summer of 2024 and officially began dating that December, but there was a twist for their roughly 100 guests: Jemison and Glover revealed that they had actually secretly eloped in Antigua on August 3, 2025, one day after getting engaged. Their Tennessee celebration included Southern food, a live saxophonist, custom cowboy hats and even a mechanical bull.
