One of the most anticipated new all-inclusive resorts in the Mexican Caribbean is now taking reservations.
The new Kimpton Tres Rios Riviera Maya has opened its reservations calendar for stays beginning Sept. 22, giving travelers their first opportunity to reserve rooms at the nature-focused resort near Playa del Carmen.
The property is still listed by Kimpton as opening soon. Its reservations system is now showing accommodations available from Sept. 22 and beyond.
The resort represents a significant addition for both Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants and the Riviera Maya, blending Kimpton’s boutique identity with a large all-inclusive property set inside a natural park.
A New Kind of Kimpton Resort
Located along the Cancún-Tulum corridor, Kimpton Tres Rios is being positioned as an all-inclusive resort centered on nature, Mexican culture, food, and wellness.
The property is surrounded by the Tres Ríos Nature Park, an area known for its freshwater rivers, mangroves, jungle trails, and cenotes. The natural environment is expected to play a central role in the resort experience, with outdoor adventures offered alongside its pools, beach, restaurants, and spa.
The resort will have four outdoor pools, including areas designed for both adults and families.
Accommodations range from essential rooms and studio suites to one-, two-, and three-bedroom suites. A presidential suite will also be available.
Rooms will include complimentary minibars, coffee and tea facilities, yoga mats, Bluetooth speakers, bathrobes, and turndown service. Some higher-category accommodations will feature private terraces, infinity pools, and ocean views.
Seven Restaurants and Five Bars
Food will be a major part of the all-inclusive program.
The resort will have seven restaurants and five bars, with menus spanning Mexican cooking and international cuisines.
Kimpton is describing the dining program as a collection of distinct culinary experiences rather than a traditional all-inclusive buffet model.
Among the resort’s dining concepts is El Carnal, one of the restaurants highlighted on the property’s new reservations site. Additional details on the full restaurant and bar lineup are expected closer to the opening.
The culinary program will be especially important for Kimpton, a brand long known for chef-driven restaurants and lively hotel bars.
Kimpton Tres Rios will give the company an opportunity to translate that restaurant-focused identity into an all-inclusive format.
A Major Wellness Component
The property will also include the Kej Spa, a wellness center inspired by regional traditions and the surrounding natural environment.
Kimpton is placing holistic wellness among the resort’s primary features, alongside nature experiences, family activities, and food.
The spa will complement a fitness center, outdoor recreation, swimming, and guided experiences around the nature park.
The location’s rivers and cenotes distinguish the property from many newer Riviera Maya resorts, where the experience is generally centered almost entirely on the beach and pool.
At Tres Rios, the jungle and freshwater environment will be part of the vacation itself.
A Family-Friendly All-Inclusive
While Kimpton is often associated with couples and urban boutique hotels, the Riviera Maya property is being designed as a family-friendly resort.
The mix of multi-bedroom accommodations, nature programs, pools, restaurants, and outdoor activities will allow families to spend most of their stay within the property.
The resort will also be pet-friendly, with a listed fee of $150 per night.
The combination of family amenities and Kimpton’s boutique style places Tres Rios in a different category from the brand’s smaller Caribbean and Mexican properties.
Kimpton’s All-Inclusive Expansion
Kimpton Tres Rios is part of IHG Hotels and Resorts’ growing push into the luxury all-inclusive sector, and its broader regional expansion.
The resort follows the opening of Kimpton Las Mercedes in Santo Domingo (which is not all-inclusive) and the continued expansion of Kimpton across Mexico, the Caribbean, and Latin America.
Tres Rios will be one of the brand’s most ambitious resort projects in the region, both because of its all-inclusive model and its extensive natural setting.
Its opening also comes as the Riviera Maya continues adding new luxury properties along the corridor between Cancún and Tulum.
Check-in will begin at 3 PM, with checkout at noon. The minimum check-in age will be 18.
With reservations now available beginning Sept. 22, travelers can begin planning the first stays at a resort designed to pair Kimpton’s food and design identity with cenotes, jungle trails, an expansive spa, and a full Riviera Maya all-inclusive experience.
What Does It Cost?
We found rooms for as low as $353 for those dates.
