Three suspects killed in police shootout in Cato Manor

Three suspects have been shot dead and another wounded in an alleged shootout with police officers and members of a private security company in Durban’s Cato Manor on Thursday afternoon.
A spokesperson of a private emergency service Garrith Jamieson says it’s alleged that the security company and police were tracking suspects.
While the circumstance around the confrontation is still unclear, it seems that it ended in a shootout on the corner of Cato Manor and Corona Roads.
Jamieson has asked motorists to avoid the area.
“Now Cato Manor Road has been closed and will be closed for quite some time. So, I would advise motorists going home to avoid this route. And like I say it will be some time before it’s opened. So, this is Cato Manor Road and Corona Road in the Mayville area. Avoid this area at all costs.”
