Toledo Institute for Development and Environment scholarship program supports 42 students

By Zoila Palma:  The Toledo Institute for Development and Environment (TIDE) is supporting 42 students through its 2026 Scholarship Program, helping young people overcome financial barriers and pursue their educational goals.

The program provides assistance to students who may otherwise face challenges meeting the costs associated with their studies.

“Our scholarship program is committed to helping students overcome financial barriers and pursue their educational goals. Through the generosity and continued support of our donors (The Massachusetts Audubon Society, Bridges and PVF) we can provide students with opportunities that may otherwise be beyond their reach,” TIDE Scholarship Coordinator Ishiamae Gomez said.

Throughout the school year, scholarship assistance has helped students cover a range of education-related expenses, including tuition, graduation fees, educational field trips and other costs associated with their academic journeys. The support has also provided relief to families while allowing students to remain focused on their education.

Gomez said one of the most rewarding aspects of coordinating the program is witnessing students progress and reach important milestones. “Behind every scholarship is a student with dreams, goals, and a desire to succeed,” she said.

TIDE expressed gratitude to its donors and supporters for investing in students and helping to promote brighter futures through education and conservation.
