Travel network ranks Anguilla first in Caribbean, third worldwide for festive vacations

Luxury global travel network Virtuoso has ranked Anguilla as the top destination in the Caribbean and third worldwide for festive getaways.

The Festive Travel Top 10 Countries list was announced at 2026 Virtuoso Travel Week, held from 8 to 14 August in Las Vegas, Nevada.

It places Anguilla behind only the United States and Mexico for the best vacation experience between 15 December and 7 January.

In a press release on 13 August, Jameel Rochester, tourism director at the Anguilla Tourist Board, said the ranking is powerful validation of Anguilla’s position as a premier luxury destination.

“To place first among Caribbean destinations and third globally for festive travel among Virtuoso’s preferred partners speaks to the strength of our product, the excellence of our resorts and villas, and the genuine hospitality that defines the Anguilla experience,” he said.

West End, home to Meads Bay and Barnes Bay beaches, also secured the eighth position among the network’s top individual festive travel destinations.

“We are especially proud that West End continues to stand out as a world-class destination within our island,” Rochester said.

Virtuoso Travel Week brings together thousands of leading luxury travel professionals and providers from all over the world for curated events, hands-on learning and one-on-one appointments.

During the event, Virtuoso presented its 2026 State of Travel report, which detailed overall network sales growth of 20.8% year over year (excluding air) across its preferred partner network as of June.

It also revealed that overall festive sales for 2026 are pacing 56% ahead of the comparable period in 2025.

Representing the Anguilla Tourist Board at the event are deputy tourism director Chantelle Richardson, board director Merla Smith-Halley and USA sales representative Vivian Chambers.
