Turkish defense consultancy company SADAT International Defense Consultancy has firmly denied allegations that it operates in Mali or provides protection services to Malian transitional President Assimi Goïta, describing such claims as false and defamatory.
In a statement released by its Board of Directors, SADAT responded to a report broadcast by French channel France 24, which alleged that the company was involved in security activities in Mali and provided close protection services to President Goïta.
SADAT stated that it has never conducted operational activities in Mali and has never deployed personnel in the country, rejecting what it described as a disinformation campaign based on unreliable and unidentified sources.
The company argued that the broadcaster itself acknowledged the absence of concrete evidence proving SADAT’s presence in Mali, yet continued to publish allegations damaging to its reputation.
SADAT announced that it would file a lawsuit against France 24, seeking compensation for what it called reputational damage caused by false reporting and character assassination.
The company also stressed that it operates in accordance with Turkish law and international conventions, describing itself as a defense consultancy organization rather than a private military contractor or mercenary group.
The statement concluded by urging the public not to trust what it called “organized perception operations and black propaganda” targeting the company, while reaffirming its commitment to pursuing legal action against what it considers unfounded accusations.
The denial comes amid growing international scrutiny of Turkey’s expanding military and security influence across the Sahel region, particularly in Mali.
