Actress Malia Baker, known for her starring role in the Disney+ film Descendants: The Rise of Red, has been named the official “DREAMbassador” for the 2026 Disney Dreamers Academy. The annual event, scheduled for March 26–29 at Walt Disney World Resort, will host 100 students selected from a nationwide pool to participate in a transformative four-day mentorship experience.
As the program’s lead ambassador, Baker will spend significant time interacting directly with the students. She is set to share personal insights from her career in the entertainment industry while participating alongside the teens in immersive workshops and leadership sessions. Baker will also play a pivotal role in the academy’s concluding ceremony, an event dedicated to recognizing the students’ personal growth and their renewed sense of purpose.
Joining Baker is a host of celebrity mentors, including WNBA icon A’ja Wilson and singer-songwriter JayDon. Wilson, a standout star for the Las Vegas Aces and a defining athlete of her generation, will lead discussions on perseverance, stewardship, and the development of a winning mindset. JayDon, known for his voice work as young Simba in the live-action The Lion King and his role in the television series The Paynes, will provide a high-energy finale with a special live performance for the 100 Dreamers during their graduation celebration.

Nearly 1,000 applicants submitted detailed essays regarding their personal journeys, their primary influences, and their career aspirations. Since its founding in 2008, the Disney Dreamers Academy has provided mentorship to more than 1,700 students. Throughout the program, the Walt Disney World theme parks are reimagined as interactive classrooms, offering hands-on workshops led by industry experts in diverse fields ranging from animation to zoology.
