Cordae Hints At Baby No. 2 In Emotional New Track

Cordae appears to hint that he’s expecting his second child on ‘Helpless,’ a track from ‘Heavy Is the Crown,’ his collaborative album with Anderson .Paak, which dropped Friday, October 23. On the FNZ-produced song, Cordae reflects on the end of a relationship and the reality of raising a child when two parents are no longer together. “I’m finna have my second child, although we still ain’t said our vows,” he raps, before adding that he never intended to raise his daughter in separate homes.

He also reflects on giving his all to a relationship, suggesting that the love he once shared with his former partner had faded. Ultimately, Cordae’s lyrics appear to reference a second child. However, he does not identify the child’s mother or clarify the circumstances surrounding the line.

Cordae And Osaka’s Relationship Past Resurfaces

The lyrics have sparked fresh interest in Cordae’s highly publicized relationship with professional tennis star Naomi Osaka. The pair began dating in 2019 after meeting at a Los Angeles Clippers game. And, they announced Osaka’s pregnancy in January 2023. They welcomed their daughter, Shai, in July of that year. In January 2025, Osaka confirmed their breakup in an Instagram Story, assuring fans there was “no bad blood” between them. Moreover, she described Cordae as “a great person and an awesome dad.”
