The Zimbabwe Under-17 women’s team on Thursday afternoon left the country for Uganda, where they are scheduled to play against the hosts in a World Cup qualifier second leg.
The Young Mighty Warriors walk into the match nursing wounds from a 2-0 defeat against the same opponents during the first leg match played at Ngoni Stadium in Norton this past Sunday.
Saturday’s fixture comes with pressure for Zimbabwe, which is aiming to win by a three-goal margin to qualify for the next round.
Speaking ahead of the fixture, team head coach Lindiwe Ndlovhu believes they still have a chance to turn the odds.
“Anything is possible in football, so I trust these girls; they can do wonders.
“We’re just asking supporters to keep supporting the girl child.
“A win for us in Uganda means a lot. We still have a lot to achieve,” she said.
The winner between Zimbabwe and Uganda will play the winner between Kenya and Namibia in the next round.
