Eighteen people were displaced after a vehicle fire spread to an apartment building in San Bernardino early Sunday, March 8.

Firefighters responded around 7:30 a.m. to an apartment complex in the 900 block of North Mountain View Avenue where they found a carport, several cars and an upstairs apartment on fire, according to the San Bernardino County Fire Department.

The fire was starting to spread to a neighboring apartment complex as more firefighters arrived.

In less than an hour, firefighters evacuated the building and got the blaze under control, the Fire Department said.

No injuries were reported. The fire destroyed five vehicles and an apartment and damaged four other apartments.
