8 Milwaukee Mother’s Day Celebrations
By John Blust on Apr. 28, 2026 VisitMilwaukee.org Mother’s Day is coming up fast! Whether you’re looking for last-minute plans that Mom will love or the perfect finishing touch to […]

It’s a classic for a reason. Call it cliché if you like, but everyone loves a delicious brunch in the buzzing ambiance of a top brunch hot spot. And with a wide variety of restaurants offering special menus to celebrate Mom, there’s a space perfectly tailored to her tastes. From the massive Mother’s Day bash on the world’s only Harley-Davidson Museum campus at MOTOR Bar & Restaurant to elevated brunch offerings at The Pfister Hotel, the Harbor House and Lupi & Iris, there’s something sure to suit your mom and leave the whole family feeling satisfied.
Get crafty with your Mother’s Day plans with a workshop at one of Milwaukee’s many makers. This year, you can give Mom the gift of an unforgettable experience with a few of her favorite people and a take-home memento to mark the occasion. She can paint and sip her way to a masterpiece all her own at The New Fashioned or infuse her signature scent into a candle that will fill her home all year long at Grey House Studio. And if none of your crafts turn into instant classics, you can always pick up one-of-a-kind pieces from local artists and makers who know how to do it right at the Tosa Locally-Made Spring Pop-Up. No one has to know that you didn’t make it yourselves.
Mixology is an art and craft cocktails are a craft of sorts, but this event is special. Its alcohol-infused alchemy will show your mom how to make her new favorite cocktail. With fresh ingredients, good vibes and experts guiding you every step of the way, this hands-on class lets you sip your way to the perfect Mother’s Day. The three-day event at Tropic offers themed drinks with names to fit the occasion, including the Ma-Ma-Magarita, Mom’s Mojito and Magical Mommy Mimosa.
A celebration that’s a literal walk in the park, a family picnic at one of the Milwaukee County Parks is a relaxing way to mark the occasion. We can keep our fingers crossed that the forecast projects be peak picnic weather, with the high-50s in play on Sunday, but what’s a better way to celebrate than to pack up the whole family for some al fresco dining? The sweeping skyline views from Kadish Park, the peaceful pastures of Humboldt Park or the waterside sights of soaring kites from Veterans Park; all you need is your favorite picnic blanket and some of Mom’s favorite bites.
Bouquets are lovely, but the floral exhibition inside the Mitchell Park Domes brings flowers of every hue into view. Stroll through the Floral, Desert and Tropical domes as you marvel at the seemingly endless array of plants and flowers contained underneath these spectacular geodes. Open 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., the Domes are giving the first 100 mothers to visit the Gifts Under Glass Gift Shop a free carnation, and the first 200 get a free commemorative sticker from the Milwaukee County Parks. so you and Mom can mark the day with a floral flourish.
The gift of relaxation is priceless. Give Mom peace of mind this Mother’s Day by booking her a massage, facial or nail appointment at area spas such as WELL Spa + Salon, Elie Bleu Threading & Spa in Wauwatosa, Face Foundrie or Urbaine Oasis Spa Boutique. Now, whether you go with her for some quality time or give her a little space to relax and unwind is entirely on you.
Looking for a wild day out with Mom? Well, we’ve got a Mother’s Day celebration for that. All moms get in free on Mother’s Day at the Milwaukee County Zoo, so you can roam the new penguin enclosure, spot some of the new arrivals like Filly the jaguar and say hi to some of the zoo’s resident moms, including Quinn the prehensile tailed porcupine, Ronnie the grizzly, Patty Sharp Tooth the lion and Addie Jean (AJ) the camel. With the new parking procedures in place, you should be able to get inside and start exploring even faster this year!
What about a little fun run to kickstart Mother’s Day this year? For all those moms out there looking to get some miles in before the Mother’s Day plans unfold, there’s the Milwaukee Mother’s Day Half Marathon, 10K and 5K. Kicking off at Veterans Park and finishing on the Summerfest grounds, this is one way to get the blood pumping for a good cause, with a portion of the proceeds benefitting the Wisconsin Ovarian Cancer Alliance (WOCA).
A bouquet makes the day just a little more special. Plan ahead and order your flowers from 414loral, Flowers for Dreams, Milwaukee Flower Co. and Erica’s Blooming Inspirations to get Mom’s favorite floral arrangements delivered in time for Mother’s Day.
