ABT Panels has handed over a two-bedroom house at Okahandja Park that was built in only two days.
According to a statement issued on Thursday, the house was handed over last Friday in partnership with the Ministry of Urban and Rural Development and the Shack Dwellers Federation of Namibia.
The beneficiary, Christine Kanguvi, was identified through the federation’s community structures.
The house was built using a panel-based system that keeps heat in during winter and out in summer.
ABT Panels provides cheap buildings with quality, durable, and energy-efficient structures for residential, commercial, and community development.
According to the statement, the building materials were assembled on site, reducing construction time and costs while providing better thermal insulation.
The project forms part of efforts to provide dignified, affordable and sustainable housing solutions to vulnerable communities, the statement says.
