Rising Nigerian artist Ashley GM continues to expand his growing Afrobeats catalogue with the release of his latest single, “Omoyemwen,” a heartfelt and emotionally rich tribute to the beauty of true love.
Inspired by a vivid dream, “Omoyemwen” tells the story of a girl whose name translates to “I love my child” in Edo, capturing a moment filled with innocence, warmth, and wonder. The song reflects a deeply personal creative process, as Ashley GM channels emotion and imagination into a track designed to resonate with listeners on a genuine level.
Produced by Mr. Gifted and recorded at Hi_Pace Studio in Benin City over the course of three days, the record came together organically. Ashley GM crafted the chorus and verses before building the track into a full sonic experience, layering his own vocals with background harmonies from Igeleke and live studio instrumentation. The result is a vibrant and textured soundscape, elevated by warm violin melodies and rich bass guitar, all carried by infectious Afrobeat rhythms.
