However, following the reported firing of Katie Zacharia on Friday, Oct. 16, 2026, after just five days in the role, some Republicans appear to be floating the rapper’s name as a potential replacement. Donald Trump has also shown support for the femcee.
Republicans floated the idea of Nicki Minaj becoming the White House press secretary on X.
According to TMZ, the speculation gained momentum after an X video surfaced of Minaj aboard Air Force One on Oct. 25, discussing President Donald Trump and his economic policies. White House Communications Director Steven Cheung shared the clip and suggested that the rapper could be the administration’s next spokesperson, writing, “Ladies and gentlemen, I think we may have found the new White House Press Secretary!”
