By Zoila Palma: Maya Mountain Cacao (MMC) has announced that its final container of Belizean cacao for the 2026 U.S. market is now on its way, marking another milestone for Belize’s growing fine-flavor cacao industry.
The company said it will also ship its final container to the European Union market next week, officially bringing the 2026 export season to a close.
MMC sources premium Belizean cacao for fine chocolate makers while supporting farmers and creating social impact in cacao-growing communities.
The company said the end of the 2026 export season also signals a new chapter, as beginning in 2027, international exports will be managed by the Maya Mountain Cacao Co-operative Society Limited, placing farmers at the center of the business and its future growth.
