Blacks Power stun Maroons to maintain perfect start

Newly promoted outfit Blacks Power maintained their perfect start to the 2026/27 season, after picking their third win in as many games on Tuesday.

In what was their first game on the road this season, the Lira based side, had to come from a goal down to edge Maroons 2-1 at Muteesa II Stadium, Wankulukuku.

It should be noted that before coming into this game, Blacks Power had won their first two games at home against Police and Ntugasaze with an identical 1-0 scoreline.

In today’s game, Simon Peter Mugerwa’s charges had to dig deep to secure maximum points, including staging a comeback.

Maroons took the lead in the 37th minute through Ali Ismael thanks to Brian Nkuubi’s lay up and the hosts led at halftime.

Five minutes after restart, the visitors levelled matters through Andrew Noll Ogwal who capitalized on an Innocent Maduka assist.

In the 67th minute, Richard Oscar Otim found the decisive goal that eventually secured maximum points for the visitors.

The win means Blacks Power have collected nine points from three games and are in second place on the table with the same number of points as leaders BUL.

On the other hand, Maroons remain seventh on the table with three points from three games.
