By Zoila Palma: During its meeting on July 15, 2026, Cabinet approved the modernization of the regulation of veterinary practice in Belize through the enactment of new legislation that will replace the existing Veterinary Surgeons Act.
The proposed law will establish a clearer, more comprehensive, and modern regulatory framework for the veterinary profession.
The new legislation is intended to update the legal framework governing veterinary practice to better reflect current standards and the evolving needs of the sector.
