Cameroon sprinter, Emmanuel Eseme clocked 10.04 seconds at the Simbine Classic
Cameroon sprinter Emmanuel Eseme has lit up the track at the Simbine Classic at the Pilditch Stadium in Pretoria, on Wednesday afternoon. He won the blue-ribbon event at the Continental Silver Label meeting, the men’s 100m final, beating host, Akani Simbine in the process.
Eseme clocked 10.04 seconds.
Simbine, who won his heat in 9.98 seconds, pulled up with an injury in the final but with his time in his heat.
The South African extended his record, breaking through the sub-10 second barrier for a 12th consecutive year, two more than the legendary Usain Bolt of Jamaica.
The women’s 100 metres was won by American Cambrea Sturgis in 10.92 seconds, the fastest time in the world this year.
