Celebrities Flock to Saint Lucia Carnival as Machel Montano, Kandi Burruss, Angela Simmons and Certified Sampson Join the Mas

Saint Lucia Carnival’s growing international appeal was on full display this year as an impressive lineup of celebrities chose the island as their carnival destination, reinforcing the festival’s reputation as one of the Caribbean’s premier cultural experiences.

Leading the celebrity contingent was the King of Soca, Machel Montano, who returned to the island not only to perform but also to immerse himself in the Lucian Carnival experience by taking to the road with revellers.

Joining him were The Real Housewives of Atlanta star, Grammy Award winning singer and songwriter Kandi Burruss, entrepreneur, television personality and fashion designer Angela Simmons, and popular comedian Certified Sampson, all of whom embraced the vibrant atmosphere while playing mas with some of the island’s leading carnival bands, including Legends Carnival Band and J4FUN Carnival Band.

The high-profile visitors shared glimpses of their carnival experience with millions of followers across social media, further showcasing Saint Lucia’s unique blend of music, culture and revelry to a global audience.

Minister for Tourism, Investment, Creative Industries, Culture and Information Dr. Ernest Hilaire welcomed the growing interest from international personalities, describing it as a reflection of the strength and appeal of the island’s carnival product.

“When internationally recognized personalities repeatedly choose Saint Lucia Carnival, it speaks volumes about the quality of the experience we have created. These are individuals who have access to carnival celebrations around the world, yet they continue to select Saint Lucia because of the authenticity of our culture, the energy of our people and the exceptional product that has been developed. Their presence also provides invaluable international exposure for our destination and strengthens Saint Lucia’s position as a leading carnival destination in the Caribbean.”

Chairperson of the Carnival Planning and Management Committee (CPMC), Tamara Gibson, said the presence of internationally recognized entertainers and influencers is a testament to the continuous work being done to elevate Lucian Carnival.

“The fact that personalities such as Machel Montano, Kandi Burruss, Angela Simmons and Certified Sampson continue to choose Saint Lucia Carnival is a strong endorsement of the product we are producing. It demonstrates that our carnival has evolved into an experience that resonates well beyond our shores. We remain committed to delivering a world class festival that celebrates our culture while attracting new audiences and enhancing Saint Lucia’s reputation on the global carnival stage.”

With colourful costumes, infectious music and thousands of revellers filling the streets, Saint Lucia Carnival once again demonstrated why it continues to attract visitors from across the region and beyond, further cementing its place among the Caribbean’s must experience carnival celebrations.
