IN a heart-rending incident, a three-year-old boy was attacked and killed by a crocodile while on a riverbank with his mother and siblings, who were fishing.
Police confirmed the incident that occurred Tuesday in Jambezi, Matebeleland province.
“The ZRP reports a sad incident where a three-year-old boy was attacked and dragged into the Matetsi River by a crocodile at Masikili Village, Jambezi, on February 10, 2026,” said Commissioner Paul Nyathi, the police national spokesperson.
“The child had accompanied his mother and sibling to the river for fishing when the incident occurred.”
The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) and the Zimbabwe Parks and Wildlife Authority (ZimParks) were still searching for the body at the time of publishing.
