Cybastion and U.S. Embassies Partner to Expand Digital Skills Training Across Africa

Cybastion  has partnered with U.S. Embassies and the American Spaces network  across Africa to expand access to digital skills training, professional certifications and career pathways for young people through the Africa DigiEmpower programme.

The programme is delivered by Cybastion’s philanthropic organisation, THEYA Foundation, in partnership with African governments, schools, educational institutions and youth organisations. It aims to address the continent’s digital skills gap by providing young people with practical knowledge and training relevant to the digital economy.

In Gabon, the programme is being delivered at the American Corner in Libreville, where participants are undergoing digital training based on the Cisco Networking Academy curriculum. Learners are preparing for the Cisco Certified Support Technician (CCST) Networking certification, while gaining practical skills in cabling, connectivity, configuration, diagnostics and network infrastructure.

In Côte d’Ivoire, Cybastion and the U.S. Embassy have concluded their second annual summer tech camp, which enrolled hundreds of young people across 20 cities. The programme offered training in areas including artificial intelligence, cybersecurity and digital awareness.

U.S. Embassy officials and THEYA Foundation executives participated in a ceremony at the embassy in Abidjan on July 30 to mark the completion of the first week of artificial intelligence training.

Cybastion said the tech camps will continue throughout the year, with the Africa DigiEmpower programme expected to expand into additional African countries to provide more young people with access to digital training and internationally recognised certifications.
