A homicide investigation in Micoud has taken a major turn after police formally charged a 35-year-old man in connection with the fatal stabbing of a fellow resident along Duke Street last week.
The Criminal Investigations Department (CID) attached to the Micoud Police Station has charged Jeremy Bicar with the murder of 44-year-old Lensley Samuel, whose death sent shockwaves through the community on Thursday, April 30, 2026.
Police said Bicar was arrested on the same day as the incident, following investigations into the deadly stabbing.
A post-mortem examination conducted on Tuesday, May 5, confirmed that Samuel died as a result of stab wounds to the chest, investigators revealed. Following the findings, Bicar was formally charged with the offence of murder later that day.
On Wednesday, May 6, the accused was escorted before the Second District Court, where he was remanded to the Bordelais Correctional Facility pending further proceedings.
The investigation into the homicide remains ongoing.
