Double CARIFTA champion Jady Emmanuel claimed four gold medals to lead Augier House to the top spot at Choiseul Secondary School’s 2026 track and field championships.
Augier ran away with the title, finishing on 1 024 points, with defending champions Jean a distant second on 816. King (637) and Darcheville (506) placed third and fourth respectively.
Emmanuel, the 2025 CARIFTA gold medallist in Under-17 girls’ 100m and 200m, captured the Division 2 crown at Choiseul, winning the 100m in 12.30 seconds and the 200m in 26.70, and added gold medals in the long jump and javelin throw. Jeaneil William won the boys’ 100m in 11.3 seconds and 200m in 24.0 for Jean, and finished second in the long jump.
The Augier charge was also led by Shawn Stephen. Competing in Division 3, he won the boys’ 200m (25.10) and 400m (58.50), and claimed silver in the discus throw, and bronze in the long jump.
Meanwhile, Kianna Jean of Jean House, won the girls’ 100m (13.30), 200m (28.0), and long jump.
The Division 4 boys’ and girls’ titles both belonged to Jean, through Cristiano Nestor and Merkisha St Catherine, respectively. Nestor won the long jump and ball throw, while adding silver in the shot put. St Catherine was a triple gold medallist, winning the 80m (11.30), 150m (21.20), and shot put, to go with silver in the ball throw.
Jean’s Oryan Montoute won the Division 4 boys’ 80m (10.60 seconds) and 150m (20 seconds), whilst Jeremiah Savery took the 300m (49.20) for Augier, and Kershan Norlay got the 600m (1:58.20) for King.
