By Zoila Palma: Today, the Football Federation of Belize (FFB) and the Belizean football family proudly welcomed home Yashmin Juan following yet another historic international assignment, after being appointed by CONCACAF as Media Officer for the 2026 Concacaf Champions Cup Final between Toluca FC and Tigres UANL at the iconic Estadio Nemesio Diez in Toluca, Mexico.
FFB noted that the highly anticipated continental final was played before a packed crowd of more than 30,000 passionate supporters at the historic Estadio Nemesio Diez, one of Mexico’s most recognized football venues.
“Juan’s appointment marks another major milestone in what has become one of the most distinguished communications and media careers in Belizean football history. This latest assignment now represents the fourth major CONCACAF finals competition in which she has been entrusted with official media responsibilities, having previously served at the CONCACAF Gold Cup, CONCACAF W Gold Cup, Nations League Finals, Copa América, and now the prestigious Concacaf Champions Cup Final,” FFB said.
“A proud Belizean professional, Juan holds a Bachelor’s Degree in English from the University of Belize and a Post Graduate Degree in Sports Management from The University of the West Indies. Her academic background, combined with years of dedication, professionalism, and excellence within football administration and communications, has propelled her onto some of the biggest stages in regional football,” FFB added.
FFB expressed excitement as Juan is the first Belizean football official to be appointed to such prestigious CONCACAF finals, a groundbreaking accomplishment that continues to elevate Belize’s reputation within regional and international football circles.
The FFB noted that since joining the Football Federation of Belize, Juan has consistently demonstrated exceptional leadership, composure under pressure, and a deep understanding of football media operations. Her continued appointments by CONCACAF speak volumes about the level of trust and confidence the confederation has placed in her abilities and expertise.
She is now widely regarded as one of CONCACAF’s most experienced and respected Media and Press Officers, working alongside some of the region’s top football professionals and helping to execute competitions watched by millions across the globe.
“Even more importantly, she continues to blaze a trail for Belizean women in sports administration and international football. Her accomplishments serve as an inspiration to young Belizeans — especially young women — proving that with hard work, humility, and perseverance, Belizean talent can compete and excel on the international stage,” FFB expressed.
FFB further added that these achievements are also victories for Belize as a nation.
Breaking Belize News joins the FFB in congratulating Yashmin Juan on this remarkable accomplishment and commend her for continuing to represent Belize with professionalism, pride, and distinction.
