Haters won’t acknowledge Nigeria’s progress under Tinubu – Presidency

Special Adviser on Information and Strategy to President Bola Tinubu, Bayo Onanuga, on Saturday said only power mongers and those blinded by hate will not acknowledge the progress Nigeria has made under the current administration.

Onanuga said Nigerians can’t dismiss Tinubu’s efforts to reset the country.

He was reacting to an X user @finplanKaluAja1, who tweeted that nothing has changed in Nigeria.

Aja posted on X: “For the avoidance of any doubt, nothing has changed. Revenues have increased, expenses have increased, the deficit has increased, debt has increased, Nigeria’s FGN is still borrowing to pay salaries.

“Normally, an increase in revenue helps to reduce deficits, but not here. So not sure what Bayo is asking us to revisit.”

Reacting, Onanuga hinted that a lot has changed in Nigeria under Tinubu’s administration.

Posting on X, Onanuga wrote: “I am not sure you live in Nigeria. If you do, you won’t dismiss the Tinubu administration’s efforts to reset the economy. Nothing has changed, yet ASUU has not crippled our universities in the last 3 years.

“Nothing has changed, yet state governors can now pay their workers. Nothing has changed, yet varsity students are accessing loans for their education.

“Nothing has changed, yet this government is building two superhighways linking the coastal states and Sokoto to Badagry.

“Nothing has changed, yet our economy has been recording trade surpluses, and the CBN has grown forex reserves to a record $54 billion.

“Nothing has changed, yet Nigerians can now use their Naira cards when they travel abroad. Only those power mongers and those blinded by hate will not acknowledge the progress we have made under President Tinubu.

“Deficit financing is not a crime, as long as you are not using the funds to pay salaries. The USA, despite its strong economy, keeps borrowing to pay its government workers. No surprise: it owes over $40 trillion.”
