Jacquees Celebrates a Decade of R&B Evolution With Star-Studded Album ‘MOOD 2’

Nearly a decade after introducing fans to the sound that helped define his career, R&B star Jacquees is returning to his roots with the release of “MOOD 2,” a 22-track album that celebrates his growth, longevity and continued influence on contemporary R&B.

Released through Cash Money Records, the project serves as the official follow-up to his 2016 mixtape “Mood,” which helped establish Jacquees as one of the genre’s most exciting new voices. What began as a collection of songs that captured the emotions of love, relationships and vulnerability has now evolved into a full-length body of work reflecting his journey as an artist.

“10 years later… what started as a mixtape is finally an album,” Jacquees said. “Some music never leaves you, it just waits for the right time. Thank y’all for keeping MOOD alive.”

Since emerging onto the music scene, Jacquees has built a reputation for blending the smooth sounds of classic R&B with modern production, catchy melodies and a confident Southern influence. His latest album continues that formula while exploring the complicated realities of love, from passion and loyalty to heartbreak, healing and personal growth.

Tracks including “Proud Of You,” “Accuse Me,” “Time Will Tell” and “Better Hands” highlight the singer’s ability to tell stories that reflect the emotional highs and challenges of relationships. The album captures moments of romance, uncertainty and self-reflection while maintaining the signature sound that has earned him a dedicated global fan base.

Jacquees also pays tribute to the artists who influenced his musical journey. On “He Kant,” he offers a nostalgic nod to Jagged Edge’s classic “He Can’t Love U,” while “Spend The Night” reimagines Faith Evans’ beloved 1990s hit “Soon As I Get Home,” bridging the gap between R&B’s past and future.

The album features collaborations with artists including BLXST, Kodak Black, NOBY, Rob49 and Ty Dolla $ign, adding different perspectives to a project centered on Jacquees’ signature vocals and storytelling.

Fans received an early preview of the album through singles such as “He Kant,” produced by Polow Da Don, “Physical” featuring Tink, “Let You Go” featuring K Camp and “Lick Back” featuring Cash Money legend Juvenile. The songs showcase his versatility, moving between slow jams, Southern-inspired sounds and contemporary R&B.

Over the years, Jacquees has earned nine Gold, Platinum and Multi-Platinum certifications and billions of streams worldwide. His catalog includes hits such as the double-platinum singles “B.E.D.” and “You,” along with platinum-certified records “At The Club” and “Come Thru.”

Following the album release, Jacquees will join fellow Atlanta artist K Camp for the “Us Over Dem Tour,” a seven-city tour celebrating their new music and the continued influence of Atlanta’s R&B and hip-hop scene.

With “MOOD 2,” Jacquees proves that a sound created nearly 10 years ago still has a place in today’s music landscape. The project is both a celebration of his past and a statement about where he is taking R&B next.
