WARRIORS forwards Tino Kadewere and Prince Dube have been ruled out of the squad ahead of the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers against Sierra Leone after picking up injuries.
The withdrawals were confirmed by the Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) ahead of Thursday’s first match against Sierra Leone in Morocco.
Kadewere picked up a knock over the weekend while playing for his Greek side Aris Thessaloniki.
Dube, meanwhile, is reported to have suffered a left hamstring injury.
In response to the latest setbacks, Warriors coach Ramon Catala has called up Hardrock forward Washington Navaya, who is also the league’s top goalscorer, and Dynamos winger Leeroy Mavunga.
The first contingent of the Warriors squad arrived in Morocco on Monday, with the majority of the players expected to join camp on Tuesday.
ZIFA has also confirmed that it has chartered a flight for the Warriors to travel from Morocco to Harare ahead of their second match against Sierra Leone, scheduled for Monday at the National Sports Stadium.
ZIFA president Nqobile Magwizi said the decision to charter a flight was aimed at reducing travel delays and fatigue ahead of the home fixture.
